Double sponge

Nothing special, your average sponge cake, just bigger :]

250g Butter
250g sugar (170g if your using icing/fondant otherwise it's too sweet)
250g flour
4 eggs

Cream your butter and sugar until pale and fluffy, beat in your eggs one by one, add your flour bit by bit et VOILA..finished :]

Pour into a greased tin and bake at Gas Mark 4 for about 30-40 mins. If it's not springy to the touch and your skewer doesn't come out clean leave it in a while longer. Easy as 1,2,3.
