I made a nappy cake :P

My mum and I were invited to a baby shower yesterday so I made the mumma to be a nappy cake...sounds nasty but it's the cutest most practical thing ever! It's a cake made of (clean) nappies, clothing, toiletries etc

Here's some pics of my cake...(you'll have to excuse the off lighting, the 4th and 5th pics are the most colour accurate)

I had so much fun making it but getting what I needed was a mission. I love shopping, but I get irritated when I can't find what I need or when it isn't budget friendly. This specific cake cost a pretty penny to make as we weren't given the invite early enough. I wanted to buy the trims, cellophane and other bits and bobs online as it would have worked out a lot cheaper but I had no choice and john lewis was the only option...£18 alone went on ribbon rolls, tissue paper and sellotape! Now imagine the rest...Anyway, we bought loads of cute clothing, couple of babygrows, couple pairs of leggings, booties, socks, cardigan, dress, a couple of tops, dummies, bib, mittens, dummies and the cutest scented minnie mouse plushie! I managed to fit everything in, the decorating was my fave part :]

This was the 'sweet' table lol It was the mumma to be's birthday aswell so she had a joint birthday/shower. There was so much food! I forgot to take a picture of the other tables but this one was my fave out of them all...just look at the glittery baby cupcakes and those scrummy brigadeiros :O omnomnom

Closeup of the birthday cake, it was purrdy and surrounded by big cupcakes. Anyhoo, I had a good night, was knackered by the time I got home but the cake was so worth it :] Everyone loved it so it made me feel good lol what did you lovelies get up to this weekend?
