the happy hooker

Arrr me hearties! How you all been? I've been trying to de-stash and use up as much of my yarn as possible before I even think about ordering some lovely new stringy bits to pay about with. Oh...don't let the title baffle you :] 'Tis fibre slang, a hooker is a crocheter lol

I have so much acrylic in colours I can only describe as horrific..pepto bismol pink? Bright pastel green? Uh...nah?? That's what happens when you impulse buy :/ So instead of getting shot of them, I'm making a stonking blanket. It should be a small blanket, throw sized. But because I'm extra and wanted a challenge, I've decided it should be big enough to drape nicely over the sides of my double bed. Impulse thinking leads to time consuming projects which will end up calling for more ugly yarn than I have...which means I have to buy more ugly yarn...which means my initial idea was pointless. It's not all ugly yarn though (goin nuts on the italics)..I snuck in some neutrals to even it out a bit. I have to admit I kinda like it now lol ugly-chic at it's best!

This is ze progress as of now...i'm 5,130 double crochets (stitches) into it...there's a good 60,000 (who am I kidding..100,000?)to go. Yayyy....It's roughly 160-180cm wide (I'm assuming..haven't been arsed to actually measure it yet..my assumptions are usually way far off though..meh)

Anyhoo, I might post a look tomorrow and for now I shall leave you with a song I only discovered today. Love the beat, i'm hooked. Pun shamelessly intended.
